Don't Guess — Investigate

Suspect Someone Is Interfering With Your CCTV or Devices?

Wireless devices can fail for many reasons. Congested WiFi, faulty equipment, poor signal strength, router problems, environmental interference and configuration errors can all resemble deliberate interference.

If you suspect that a neighbour or another person may be deliberately interfering with CCTV, WiFi, alarms or other wireless systems, AceGuard can help examine the technical evidence before conclusions are reached.

Warning Signs

When Should You Consider an RF Interference Investigation?

One outage does not prove interference. Repeated, unusual or event-specific failures may justify deeper technical analysis.

📹

CCTV Goes Offline

Cameras repeatedly disconnect despite previously reliable WiFi connectivity.

📡

Sudden Signal Loss

Wireless signal strength unexpectedly collapses or devices disappear from the network.

Failures at Specific Times

Problems repeatedly occur during particular periods, events or activity.

🏠

Smart Home Disruption

Doorbells, sensors, alarms or smart-home equipment become unreliable without an obvious technical cause.

⚠️

Multiple Devices Fail

Several wireless devices experience connectivity problems at approximately the same time.

🔁

Recurring Patterns

Disruptions show a consistent pattern rather than random network instability.

Neighbour Interference Concerns

Suspect a Neighbour Is Jamming Your CCTV?

Neighbour disputes involving CCTV and wireless security systems can be particularly difficult because technical failures can appear to coincide with activity outside your property.

You may notice a camera disconnecting when someone approaches, WiFi failures occurring at similar times each day or several security devices losing connectivity together.

These circumstances may justify investigation, but they do not automatically establish that a neighbour is using a jammer.

AceGuard takes an evidence-led approach.

We examine equipment, network behaviour, event timing and available logs to distinguish ordinary faults from potentially anomalous interference.

Understanding the Technology

What Is RF Jamming?

Radio-frequency interference occurs when unwanted electromagnetic energy disrupts legitimate wireless communications.

Deliberate jamming involves transmitting interference intended to prevent or degrade communications. Depending on the technology involved, wireless disruption may affect:

  • WiFi CCTV cameras
  • Wireless security cameras
  • Smart doorbells
  • Wireless alarm components
  • WiFi networks
  • Bluetooth equipment
  • Wireless sensors
  • Smart-home and IoT devices

A connectivity failure alone is not proof of deliberate jamming. Technical diagnosis is therefore essential.

Our Investigation Process

Remote & Physical RF Interference Investigation

We use a staged approach so that expensive or unnecessary on-site investigation is not automatically recommended.

Remote Technical Assessment

We begin by reviewing the affected systems and available technical evidence. This may include router configuration, CCTV settings, logs, screenshots, disconnection times, network topology and device behaviour.

Incident Pattern Analysis

We examine whether outages correlate with particular times, locations, events or devices. Repeated patterns can help distinguish ordinary connectivity problems from behaviour requiring deeper investigation.

On-Site RF Investigation

Where remote assessment cannot adequately explain the disruption, an on-site investigation may be appropriate. The local wireless environment can then be assessed for unusual interference or recurring RF anomalies.

Mitigation & Security Recommendations

Following the investigation, we can recommend practical measures to improve CCTV resilience, network security, evidence preservation and wireless reliability.

Technical Evidence

What Can We Review?

The investigation can draw upon network, CCTV and device information to establish a clearer technical picture.

✓ CCTV configuration
✓ Router configuration
✓ WiFi topology
✓ Camera connectivity
✓ Router logs
✓ Device logs
✓ Disconnection timestamps
✓ Signal-strength information
✓ Event histories
✓ Network behaviour
✓ Firmware information
✓ Equipment placement
✓ Screenshots and recordings
✓ Recurring outage patterns
Defensive Security

Countering CCTV & Wireless Interference

AceGuard does not respond to suspected jamming by transmitting competing interference.

Instead, our focus is on lawful defensive measures that make your security architecture more resilient.

  • Move critical CCTV connections to wired Ethernet
  • Introduce local CCTV recording
  • Improve access-point positioning
  • Strengthen network segmentation
  • Add redundant connectivity where appropriate
  • Improve event and connection logging
  • Harden CCTV and router configuration
  • Reduce reliance on a single wireless link

What Should You Record?

If the interference is intermittent, an accurate incident record can significantly improve the investigation.

Date & Exact Time

Record when each outage begins and when normal service returns.

Devices Affected

Identify whether one camera or several wireless devices stop functioning at the same time.

What Was Happening?

Note relevant surrounding events without making assumptions about their cause.

Screenshots & Logs

Preserve network logs, CCTV notifications, screenshots and available event information.

Duration

Record how long the disruption continued and whether devices recovered automatically.

Recurring Patterns

Look for failures occurring repeatedly under similar circumstances.

RF Jammer Investigation FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if someone is jamming my CCTV?
Repeated CCTV disconnections can be consistent with wireless interference, but they do not prove deliberate jamming. Network congestion, weak WiFi, hardware faults and ordinary radio interference can cause similar symptoms. A technical investigation should first eliminate normal causes.
Can a neighbour interfere with wireless CCTV?
Wireless CCTV relies on radio communications and can therefore potentially be affected by sufficiently strong interference. Establishing whether disruption is deliberate requires technical evidence rather than assumption.
Can AceGuard investigate suspected RF jamming?
Yes. AceGuard can investigate suspected wireless interference through remote technical assessment and, where technically appropriate, an on-site RF investigation.
My CCTV only disconnects when someone approaches. Does that prove jamming?
No. It is a pattern worth documenting, but timing alone does not prove deliberate interference. Record incidents, preserve logs and investigate the technical evidence.
Can an RF interference investigation begin remotely?
Yes. A remote assessment can review configuration, CCTV behaviour, router information, event times, screenshots and available logs before deciding whether physical investigation is justified.
Do you use another jammer to counter suspected jamming?
No. AceGuard focuses on lawful defensive investigation and system resilience, including wired connectivity, local recording, network redesign, monitoring and redundant communications.
